摘要: The objective of this study was to determine the effect postweaning exposure females on subsequent sexual performance young rams. Twenty-five crossbred rams were reared in a group with ovariectomized from 4.5 9 mo age. Ewes brought into estrus every 2 wk during period. A companion 23 not exposed following weaning. Four 30-min tests administered at 10 Rams males and (RMF) exhibited more mounts (P less than .001) ejaculations .002) only (RM). frequency successful matings by latter did increase experience. Nine sexually inactive tests. Follow-up revealed that two RMF one RM ram developed maintained preference for males. six remaining eventually mated when tested familiar pens subsequently normal levels even an unfamiliar enclosure. Exposure ewes prepubertal period enhanced performance. However, early ensure all preferences females. environmental context which are may inhibit expression heterosexual behavior small percentage animals. After expressed, continued show performance.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)
