摘要: This study constituted the first step in psychometric development of a self-report screening instrument for risk opioid medication misuse among chronic pain patients. A 26-item instrument, Pain Medication Questionnaire (PMQ), was constructed based on suspected behavioral correlates misuse, which heretofore have received limited empirical investigation. The PMQ administered to 184 patients at an interdisciplinary treatment center. Reliability coefficients were found be moderate but acceptable strength. Construct and concurrent validity examined through correlation scores measures substance abuse, physical psychological functioning, physicians' assessments. To explore high low cutoff points risk, subgroups formed according upper lower thirds compared measures. Higher associated with history higher levels psychosocial distress, poorer functioning. Future analyses will consider predictive examine shortened versions instrument.
