摘要: This thesis examines why and how Indigenous Australians convert to Islam in the New South Wales suburbs of Redfern Lakemba. It is argued that conventional religious conversion theories inadequately account for change circumstances outlined this study. The aim apply a sociological-historical methodology document analyse both Islamic pathways eventuating alliances. All men interviewed research have had contact with either while incarcerated or involved criminal justice system. consequences these alliances constitute contribution study makes new knowledge. employs socio-historical sociological focus underlying issues by literature review followed an ethnographic participant observation methodology. In-depth open-ended interviews key informants provided rich qualitative data compliment findings.
