摘要: Abstract Background Intracranial electroencephalography (iEEG) is increasingly used in neuroscientific research. However, the position of implanted electrodes varies greatly between patients, which makes group analyses particularly difficult. Therefore, an assignment procedure needed that enables neuroanatomical information to be obtained for each individual electrode contact. New method Here, we present a MATLAB-based approach iEEG contacts, implemented open-source toolbox ELAS, allows hierarchical probabilistic contacts cytoarchitectonically-defined brain areas. The here presented ELAS consists two major steps: (I) pre-assignment cerebral lobes and (II) following based on lobe-specific probability maps SPM Anatomy Toolbox. Results We analyzed data 14 epilepsy patients with total 783 intracranial contacts. cortical areas was possible 72.5% were located lateral convexity. Comparison existing methods This our knowledge first combines both macro-anatomical cytoarchitectonic information. Due integration about anatomical landmarks, incorrect assignments could avoided approx. 7% Conclusion study demonstrates how procedures developed analysis neuroimaging can adapted iEEG, especially helpful analyses. freely available via including 3D visualization file export virtual reality setups.
