摘要: Over the last 30 years, elderly population of developed countries has shown an unprecedented increase. This process raised alarm about future affordability health care systems. In this context, we consider effects aging on helath expenditure within a involving several elements: increasing number persons, variations in status and evolution cost medical treatment. The main conclusion is that only small part increase due to aging. Furthermore, because average improved with greater longevity, suggest most can be attributed non-demographic factors. Such as services utilization, treatment development new technology. Unlike populations aging, these factors subjected regulation consequently, large extent controlled.
