摘要: Bilayer lipids contribute to the stability of membrane transporters and are crucially involved in their proper functioning. However, molecular knowledge how surrounding affect transport is surprisingly limited despite its general importance rarely considered description a mechanism. One reason that only few atomic resolution structures channels or reveal functional interaction with lipids, which difficult detect X-ray per se. Overcoming these difficulties, we report here on new structure osmotic stress-regulated betaine transporter BetP complex anionic lipids. This lipid-associated important understanding osmoregulation due strong dependence activity regulation presence negatively charged We detected eight resolved palmitoyl-oleoyl phosphatidyl glycerol (PG) mimicking parts leaflets interacting key residues regulation. The lipid–protein interactions observed structural detail provide insights into role osmoregulated secondary transport.
