摘要: This paper, the second in a series of two, describes medium scale tests on symmetrical, plane (wedge-type) and conical hoppers aimed at determining critical outlet size preventing formation arches or domes during gravitational discharge bulk materials. The materials used were limestone, gypsum, coal, cement, taconite, their flow properties are described first paper series. experimentally-determined is compared with theoretical predictions based several existing theories arching. It shown that all overestimate by factor about 2 to 4, results discussed light parameters value modifications theories.
