Fertility decisions in the FRG and GDR

摘要: The aim of this paper is to compare family policies and fertility patterns in the former German Democratic Republic (GDR) Federal (FRG). Among other aspects, both societies particularly differed integration women into labor market. By contrasting development these two societies, aims illuminate how women’s education employment relates decisions societal contexts that support (in case GDR) hamper FRG) compatibility between work life. Data for analysis comes from Fertility Family Survey (of year 1992). We provide descriptive statistics all birth parities, but we limit multivariate event history first births only.
