摘要: The role of smoke as a fire-related germination cue is well known in many parts the world, including Mediterranean-type ecosystems; however, it has been neglected Mediterranean Basin (MB). We studied response 5 woody species found eastern MB (south-western Turkey) to solutions derived from different plant species. Of examined, 2 [Sarcopoterium spinosum (L.) Spach and Satureja thymbra L.] showed significant increments percentage after treatments compared control, while remaining 3 [Calicotome villosa (Poir.) Link, Cistus salviifolius L., Lavandula stoechas did not. However, none any change rate. In addition, various plants not affect (germination rate) all results confirm that effect originating on globally similar regardless region. Our study helps fill gap literature smoke-induced supports idea important postfire MB.
