摘要: Promotion of renewable energy sources in Europe is foreseen to result a dramatic increase the demand for woody biomass. This paper assesses whether wood resources European Union (EU) will support future demand. Possible implications countries with ample forest and well-developed industry, such as Sweden, an expected mounting pressure are discussed. Other drivers change global product markets posing challenges sector general also addressed. These reviewed and, together results from EUwood project econometric market models, analyzed their impacts on Swedish sector. Demand vastly exceed potential supply biomass Europe, putting tremendous resource necessitating trade-offs between different ecosystem services. Further, projections suggest that Sweden decrease importance production well consumption terms all products.
