摘要: Purpose To evaluate whether the corneal-thickness spatial profile and corneal-volume distribution differentiate keratoconic corneas from normal using new tomography parameters. Setting Subspecialty cornea refractive practice, Fluminense Federal University, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Methods Forty-six eyes diagnosed with mild to moderate keratoconus 364 were studied by Pentacam Comprehensive Eye Scanner. Corneal thickness at thinnest point averages of points on 22 imaginary circles centered increased diameters 0.4 mm steps calculated create a profile. volume was within 1.0 7.0 0.5 distribution. The percentage increase in for each position their first value. Statistical analysis done Wilcoxon 2-independent-sample test compare mean levels S-Plus-4.0 software (MathSoft) linear model under Bayesian frame estimating variation BUGS 0.6 package. Results Statistically significant differences observed between groups ( P Conclusions Corneal-thickness profile, distribution, thickness, different could serve as indices diagnose screen candidates. Further studies are necessary these tomographic more sensitive specific than classic Placido-based topography.
