Browsing personal media archives with spatial context using panoramas

摘要: This paper presents novel techniques for using panoramas as spatial context to enhance browsing of personal media archives. context, scenes where frequent capture takes place, is present in the disparate photos and videos, but not leveraged by traditional (e.g. thumbnails or zoomable interfaces). Coarse geo-position often an insufficient index at such hotspots. We experiment with panoramic video, which archive video organically blended hotspots; Immersive filtering items projected onto spherical panoramas; Detection representation links between enable situated quasi-3D. proof-of-concept implementations observations their effectiveness, limitations, open problems. Experiments confirm intuition that each holds promise augmenting environments.
