摘要: Viral infections of the upper respiratory tract are associated with a variety invasive diseases caused by Streptococcus pyogenes, group A streptococcus, including pneumonia, necrotizing fasciitis, toxic shock syndrome, and bacteremia. While these polymicrobial infections, or superinfections, complex, progress has been made in understanding molecular basis disease. Areas investigation have included characterization virus-induced changes innate immunity, differences bacterial adherence internalization following viral infection, efficacy vaccines mitigating morbidity mortality superinfections. Here, we briefly summarize viral-S. pyogenes superinfections an emphasis on those affiliated influenza viruses.
