摘要: Changes in the ground flora sweet chestnut (Castaneasativa) woodland were studied over 11 years usingpermanent quadrats two coppiced plots and one plot a ride widened by treeremoval. Light temperature also recorded. The range wasgreater than coppice plots. reaching floorin summer fell to less 1% of incident radiation at later stages thecoppice cycle. Species richness peaked second third year aftercoppicing then declined both ride. A similarpattern was seen total percentage frequency cover. dominant species,Anemone nemorosa, showed little response coppicecycle terms frequency, but fourfold increase floweringintensity following coppicing. Other speciesgenerally through cycle, flowering waslargely suppressed stages. results are discussed relation toalternative methods management.
