摘要: A detailed account of a measurement order parameter liquid crystal at the boundary by means wall‐induced pretransitional birefringence is given. Several surface treatments were studied including surfactants and evaporated films. Although all produced good alignment in nematic phase, (hence strength aligning force) isotropic phase differed very much depending on treatment, indicating diverse nature process.
