摘要: Mean-flow and turbulence measurements have been obtained in two-dimensional vertical turbulent plumes a nominally still ambient. The were generated by injecting hot water vertically upwards from the bottom of reservior containing cold water. A two-component Laser Doppler Anemometer (LDA) “cold-film” resistance thermometer used to obtain instantaneous velocity temperature plume. present mean-flow confirmed many earlier on plane plumes, but also indicated some important differences. use LDA made it possible data intensities, fluxes other details structure plumes. shown that eddy viscosity are significantly higher plume compared an isothermal jet. Detailed energy balance suggest buoyant production contributes substantially this increase.
