Level of positive mental health in the European Union: Results from the Eurobarometer 2002 survey

摘要: Few epidemiological studies have focused on the occurrence of positive mental health, and those comparing several countries practically non-existent. This study presents comparative findings health in 11 EU or regions, based Eurobarometer 2002 (autumn) survey. The sample (n = 10,878) represents general population, aged 15 over, European regions (all old Member States except Denmark, Greece, Ireland, Finland Great Britain which had to be excluded because poor response rate, less than 45%). method opinion survey was applied using face-to-face interviews. Energy Vitality Index (EVI) from SF-36 questionnaire use as measure health. Overall, there were between-country differences gender- age-adjusted EVI mean scores. In general, poorer found women, older age groups, economic position experiencing weak social support. Methodological biases cannot fully excluded, thus, one has take presented results with certain caution, especially when different countries. On other hand, determinants are concordance most previous studies.
