摘要: Populations subject to anthropogenic contaminants often display altered patterns of genetic variation, including decreased variability. Selective pressures contaminant exposure are also reflected in differential tolerance between genotypes. An industrial chemical spill a major eastern Australian waterway July 2006 resulted variability nearby population the amphipod, Melita plumulosa for up one year post-spill, despite site being declared clean after 48 h. Here, we investigate toxicant response three mitochondrial lines naturally occurring at impacted by comparing survivorship and life-history trait variables following naphthalene exposure. Overall, M. demonstrated under high concentrations naphthalene. In addition, identified fecundity frequencies gravidity female amphipods haplotypes examined. These findings suggest that previously may be linked with and/or reproductive performance lineages.
