摘要: A chemical reactor for the steam-gasification of carbonaceous materials (e.g., coal or coke) is modeled by means a two-phase formulation that couples radiative, convective, and conductive heat transfer to kinetics. unique feature gas-particle flow directly exposed concentrated solar radiation, providing efficient radiative reaction site high-temperature endothermic process. The governing mass, momentum, energy conservation equations are solved applying Monte Carlo, two-flux, finite-volume techniques. Validation accomplished comparing numerically calculated temperatures, product composition, conversions with experimentally measured values obtained from testing 5 kW prototype in high-flux furnace.
