Synthesis and Evaluation of TiC/Al3Ti Coating on Iron Via Thermal Explosion of Al-Ti-C System

摘要: Thermal explosion reactions of Al-Ti-C system were studied. It was found that TiC and Al3Ti could be synthesized as final products in the system. A particular morphology variation occurred with an increase content. presented a strip form content 20 wt.%; TiC, its shape changed to granular reduced size. TiC-reinforced intermetallic matrix composite coating successfully fabricated on iron substrate by thermal during casting. As contents reached 20-40 wt.%, ignited fully completed molten achieve compacted good metallurgical bonding between basal iron. The elements Al, Ti, C, Fe gradiently distributed from matrix. hardness substantially higher than slightly increased relatively lower wear rates H13 steel at 25-400 °C.
