摘要: Summary Cote d'Ivoire is thought to be one of the final strongholds endangered West African chimpanzee ( Pan troglodytes verus ). In a recent assessment their conservation status, was estimated support between 8,000 and 12,000 individuals, accounting for almost half remaining world population [1]; however, this estimate based primarily on nationwide survey that conducted in 1989–1990 [2]. Since then, information abundance distribution within region has been sparse. To update status chimpanzees evaluate trend, we repeated survey. Our results show there an alarming decline numbers, urgent action required prevent them from disappearing entirely.
