摘要: The effect of in vivo hydrocortisone (HC) treatment on thymocytes, splenic and blood lymphocytes allogeneic humoral immune responses were investigated the axolotl (urodele amphibian). HC induces a profound lymphocytopenia thymus (83% sensitive) spleen (50% but not blood. density gradient analysis HC-treated axolotls showed that thymic cell populations light more sensitive than high density. timing administration relation to antigenic challenge is crucial for response. If injection given 8 days before or same day as horse red cells (HRBC), antibody response markedly enhanced. occurs after HRBC maximum anti-HRBC response, unchanged. allograft affected by treatment. parallelism enhanced treatment, with obtained adult thymectomized (ATx) animals, well ATx-HC-treated axolotl, may be explained presence corticosensitive, T-like population suppressor axolotl.
