Informed consent by children and participation in an influenza vaccine trial.

摘要: Two hundred thirteen school children, ages six to nine, were presented the opportunity participate in an experimental trial of swine influenza vaccine. In non-directive question and answer sessions, all groups children except one composed only year olds elicited relevant information on details associated risks benefits. Forty-six per cent subjects declined participate. Letters requiring informed consent parents sent homes others. Almost 15 these agreed their children's participation. this setting, initiate own visits nurse practitioner. A significant association was found between volunteering for study higher use services (but not medical reasons). Younger boys, regardless patterns use, less inclined volunteer experiment.
