摘要: The reaction of copper(II) halides with o-aryloxybenzaldehydes to give xanthones is shown be a general one. 2-(6-Methoxy-2-naphthyloxy)benzaldehyde undergoes concomitant nuclear bromination 4-bromo-3-methoxybenzo[a]xanthen-12-one.
