There is a growing interest of late to enhance our ability reduce carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere through tree growth. Although spread development urban areas may, some cases, cause reduction forest cover, there may be opportunities establish additional trees open within cities and metropolitan areas. We assess three freely available aerial or satellite imagery products for their correctly identify six southern United States cities. A standard supervised classification process statistical assessment plantable are employed. Results suggest that while National Agriculture Imagery Program (NAIP) require more computer processing time memory, accuracy acceptable purpose identifying where might planted. Therefore, use NAIP this as sufficient Landsat 5 7. Given recent uncertainties availability 7 imagery, given analytical needs such one proposed here, improvements estimates potential can made over less intensive methods.
