摘要: The fossil site of Untermassfeld, near the town Meiningen in Southern Thuringia, was discovered 1978 and has been subject 25 field seasons. digs have produced a stunning array vertebrate remains stratigraphic context, making this unquestionably one most important Quaternary localities Europe. In volume author provides first full synthesis work, bringing results up to date, placing them broad context. With some 14,000 determinable fossils, Untermassfeld assemblage represents complete time span 1.2-0.9 Ma BP Western Palaearctic.
