Efficacy and Effectiveness of Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy and Pharmacotherapy

摘要: Decades of intervention research have produced a rich body evidence on the effects psychotherapies and pharmacotherapies with children adolescents. Here we summarize critique that evidence. We review findings bearing efficacy psychosocial treatments medications under controlled experimental conditions. also report evidence, where available, effectiveness both classes treatment clinically referred youth treated in real-world clinical contexts. In general, large contrasts sharply small base effectiveness. Addressing this gap through an enriched agenda could contribute importantly to linking scientific inquiry practice-to benefit ventures. This is one element multifaceted for future synthesis research, which will require interplay multiple disciplines related child adolescent mental health.
