摘要: INTRODUCTION Iron overload is usually observed in patients (even untransfused) with myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), and contributes towards the generation of low molecular weight iron complexes or non-transferrin-bound (NTBI), which turn favors oxidative DNA damage consequent apoptosis. MATERIALS AND METHODS Levels NTBI lipid peroxidation were evaluated by means free serum malondyaldehyde (MDA) untransfused MDS we tried to correlate them ineffective erythropoiesis, apoptosis pattern vitro growth. RESULTS levels found be significantly higher low-risk than high-risk patients, as well a lower myeloid/erythroid ratio. MDA was uniformly whole normal controls. The bone marrow progenitor cells high showed degree apoptosis, but this difference not statistically significant. Patients leukemic growth had those non-leukemic pattern. CONCLUSION These data suggest that related erythropoiesis it inducing precursors. presence associated levels, probably due increased consumption blast cells.
