Precision Geodesy Using the Mark-III Very-Long-Baseline Interferometer System

摘要: Very-long-baseline interferometry (VLBI) has been used to make precise measurements of the vector separation between widely separated antennas. The system for acquiring and processing VLBI data known as Mark-III is described. Tests show it have millimeter-level accuracy on short baselines; baselines longer than a few hundred kilometers suggest that limited by uncertainty in calibration tropospheric path delay level centimeters. experiments conducted 1976 1983 demonstrated stability North American plate showing there no change distance easternl-California Massachusetts at millimeters per year or greater. Experiments made from 1980 1984 indicate Sweden increasing 1.7 ± 1 cm/year where quoted standard deviation includes estimated effects systematic atic errors
