摘要: Objectives  Friedelin was isolated from Azima tetracantha Lam. leaves collected Kallakurichi, Villuppuram district, Tamil Nadu, India. The anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic activities of friedelin have been investigated in Wistar rats mice. Methods  the hexane extract A. using column chromatography. effects on inflammation were studied by carrageenan-induced hind paw oedema, croton oil-induced ear acetic acid-induced vascular permeability, cotton pellet-induced granuloma adjuvant-induced arthritis. effect evaluated abdominal constriction response, formalin-induced licking response hot-plate test. yeast-induced hyperthermia test rats. Key findings  In acute phase inflammation, maximum inhibitions 52.5 68.7% (P < 0.05) noted with 40 mg/kg oedema respectively. Administration (40 mg/kg) significantly decreased formation tissue induced pellet at a rate 36.3%. arthritis inhibited 54.5% thickness. permeability mice. also produced significant activity response. test, did not show any results when compared control. Treatment showed dose-dependent reduction pyrexia rats. Conclusions  suggested that possessed potent activities.
