摘要: Abstract X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy (XAS) is known to be an ideal technique for investigating matter lacking crystalline ordering. This work reports about present methods used disordered matter, discussing data-analysis and simulations strategies as well several experimental techniques with applications. The current approach based on the comparison among multiple-scattering associated n-body distribution functions EXAFS (Extended Fine Structure) data, including application of Reverse Monte Carlo methods, discussed. Several studies amorphous liquid systems are presented, showing potential XAS in answering some important questions related preferred local symmetries presence polymorphism glasses liquids. Experiments presented also advances performance high-pressure high-temperature experiments systems, highlighting importance combining XAS, x-ray diffraction suitable diagnostics. ability measuring phase transitions structure undercooled metastable liquids New possibilities offered by measurements light elements using inelastic scattering (x-ray Raman) notable example water. Mention new time-resolved applications at synchrotrons free-electron lasers given.
