摘要: Quantification and evaluation of elemental distribution in forested ecosystems are key requirements to understand element fluxes their relationship with hydrological biogeochemical processes the system. However, datasets supporting such a study on catchment scale still limited. Here we provide dataset comprising spatially highly resolved distributions 39 elements soil profiles small headwater western Germany () gain holistic picture state catchment. The include both plant nutrients other metals metalloids that were predominately derived from lithospheric or anthropogenic inputs, thereby allowing us not only capture nutrient status but also estimate functional development ecosystem. Soil samples collected at high lateral resolution (≤60 m), concentrations determined vertically for four horizons (L/Of, Oh, A, B). From this, three-dimensional view these could be established spatial temperate natural can combined studies TERENO (Terrestrial Environmental Observatories) Data Discovery Portal reveal fluxes, establish relations between properties, and/or as input modeling cycling ecosystems.
