摘要: An essential procedure to increase the analytical efficiency of Delta(47) measurements requires raising temperature phosphoric acid digestion for carbonate materials. This change introduces a fractionation offset in that must be accounted prior calculation temperatures formation and allow interlaboratory comparison results. We measured factor relative reaction at 25 degrees C calcite, aragonite, dolomite across range from 90 C. Significantly, all three minerals behave similarly during digestion, allowing single dependent relationship:1000 ln infinity CO2(Acid)-Delta(47) = (0.022434 +/- 0.001490) * 10(6)/T-2 - (0. 2524 0: 0168)where is factor, T Kelvin. Mineralogical or isotopic compositional effects on factorwere not observed, suggesting this may valid minerals. also present inorganic calibrations both calcite aragonite low ( 5-70 C) find them agree with published data. Using new Delta(47)-temperature are recalculated. analysis confirms statistically significant calibration difference between data analyzed versus higher temperatures. The origin discrepancy remains unknown, but it appears cause. (C) 2015 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
