摘要: Winterhardiness of grain legumes is reviewed. Field rankings for hardiness are: faba bean = lentil > pea chickpea. Rhizosphere temperatures < -9 °C are usually lethal to bean, while controlled freezing tests show LT50 values -8.5 hardy pea. Laboratory methods can assess cold tolerance but field needed winterhardiness. seldom differentiate between the stresses which may cause winterkill.
