摘要: Abstract An algorithm was developed that uses Tabu search to schedule timber harvests subject even-flow of volume harvested, adjacency constraints, and spatial wildlife habitat quality goals. A subroutine within the senses size contiguous cover blocks in order evaluate The goals consist (1) maintaining at least 80% forage area 200 m a hiding or thermal patch 3 ha size, (2) 300 17 size. To illustrate procedure, feasible harvest plans for three-period planning horizon were developed. Two scenarios examined: units 0–39 years old considered forage, there no minimum age timbered units, 0–9 with 50 units. second goal found be most limiting both scenarios, while first only one three periods case study. results scenario showed level all when has reached steady-state locating solutions. resulted much more spatially temporally constrained set results, where solutions met goals, yet steady state not levels eventually deviated widely from an perspective. We demonstrate can simultaneously these types which do have predictable response decision choices.
