摘要: Decades of research have been devoted to defining the role GABAergic transmission in nociceptive processing. Much this work was performed using rigid, orthosteric GABA analogs created by Povl Krogsgaard-Larsen and his associates. A relationship between pain is suggested anatomical distribution receptors ability some agonists alter responsiveness. Outlined report are data supporting proposition, with particular emphasis on localization function GABA-containing neurons molecular pharmacological properties GABAA GABAB receptor subtypes. Reference made changes overall tone, expression activity as a duration intensity painful stimulus or exposure agents. Evidence presented that plasticity system may be responsible for variability antinociceptive effectiveness compounds influence transmission. These findings demonstrate at least types persistent associated regionally selective decline highlighting need agents enhance affected regions without compromising over long-term. As subtype positive allosteric modulators accomplish these goals, such might represent new class analgesic drugs.
