摘要: The lake lies at an altitude of 1,135 m. a.s.l., and is crossed by the equator; these are two important facts influencing climate. Its area 68,000 km 2 which constitutes about 26% morphological depression basin 263,000 2. Numerous islands fringe shore with a total 1,500 has drainage 184,000 presented in map Thompson (ch. 11, Fig. 24). farthest recognisable affluent Lake Victoria seems to be river Akanyaru arising near Tanganyika 2,000 a.s.l.
