Organ-specific migration of mesenchymal stromal cells: Who, when, where and why?

摘要: Mesenchymal stromal cells (MSC) represent a type of multipotent that can differentiate to various mesenchymal lineages. MSC be isolated from different tissues and require ex vivo expansion exert their regenerative immunosuppressive function for clinical applications. The efficacy these MSC-based therapies at least partly depends on migration specific homing towards the site where are needed. express wide variety integrins, chemokine- growth factor receptors, though culture-expansion dramatically alters migratory engraftment potential. However, it has become clear tissue damage and/or inflammation enhance homing. In this review, we focus potential target organs, including bone marrow, bone, spleen & lymph nodes, intestine heart, underlying molecular mechanisms in preclinical settings. Better understanding directed will offer new perspectives modulate protocols improve upon transplantation.
