摘要: We use the anomalous x-ray diffraction technique to investigate nature of tantalum displacement pattern in modulated phase charge-density-wave compound (TaSe4)2I. In addition known acousticlike modulation, we find first direct evidence for condensation opticlike Ta displacements along metallic chains corresponding an LLSS long and short in-chain Ta-Ta distances (Ta-tetramerization modes). This result confirms a previous model which interaction electronically coupled optic modes with long-wavelength acoustic shear leads modulation mixed character.
