摘要: Self-sustainability is a crucial step for modern sensor networks. Here, we offer an original and comprehensive framework autonomous networks powered by renewable energy sources. We decompose our design into two nested optimization steps: the inner characterizes optimal network operating point subject to average consumption constraint, while outer provides online management policies that make system energetically self-sufficient in presence of unpredictable intermittent Our sheds new light pragmatic schemes control energy-harvesting permits gauge impact key parameters, such as battery capacity, harvester size, information transmission rate, radio duty cycle. analyze robustness obtained cases where nodes have differing inflow statistics topology changes may occur, devising effective heuristics. are finally evaluated considering real solar radiation traces, validating them against state-of-the-art solutions, describing relevant choices terms achievable throughput battery-level dynamics.
