摘要: BACKGROUND Obesity is a significant public health problem worldwide. Vitamin deficiencies, developing due to monotype nutrition, are more likely be observed in patients than healthy children. The present study evaluates vitamin and micronutrient levels children adolescents with obesity metabolic syndrome compared controls. METHODS included 73 obesity, 64 71 (control group) aged 10 16 years. Physical examinations were performed, waist circumference systolic blood pressure measurements recorded. Fasting glucose, triglyceride, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, low-density total insulin, A, E, B1, B2, B6, B12, folic acid free carnitine analyzed. homeostatic model of assessment-insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) index was calculated RESULTS mean age all 11.9±2.6 serum insulin level HOMA-IR found significantly higher the groups. No difference between groups terms B6 levels. Significantly decreased B12 increased B1 CONCLUSIONS Compared children, may have varying degrees deficiency poor unbalanced eating habits. These deficiencies should also considered treatment follow-up syndrome.
