摘要: It is shown that the appearance of a multidimensional potential energy surface, or landscape, can be related to form interatomic intermolecular potential. Catastrophe theory enables us describe how geometry surface changes with parameters in potential, and provides universal scaling relations explain, for example, asymmetric reaction profiles observed systems bound by long-range forces. The principal result an unexpected connection between barrier heights, path lengths, vibrational frequencies, applications wide variety problems chemical physics, ranging from Hammond's postulate organic chemistry, relaxation dynamics complex such as glasses biomolecules.
