摘要: Abstract There is considerable evidence that the raphe system and region of nucleus tractus solitarious (NTS), including area postrema, play significant roles in slow-wave sleep mechanisms EEG synchronization. Studies interactions between these systems neocortex are much needed. If neuronal activity lower brainstem regions regulates degree cortical synchrony then a high correspondence postrema or complex with cortex might be expected. In order to quantitate frequency characteristics obtained from subcortical sites (nucleus dorsalis, as well anatomical controls adjacent regions) during different vigilance states (waking, sleep, REM sleep) cat, power spectral analyses techniques were employed. Comparison those (frontal occipital) same state, show measures elicited closely correspond cortex, particularly sleep. On other hand, anterior portion region, although exhibiting substantial low component comparison wakefulness does not statistically shift frequencies such occurs cortex. These results suggest increases content synchronizing inputs greater extent than complex.
