摘要: PURPOSE: To assess the imaging findings and course of lung cancers missed on computed tomographic (CT) scans. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A retrospective review CT scans was performed nine patients who underwent examination for various clinical indications in whom a cancer had been missed. Subspecialty chest radiologists determined whether retrospectively identified lesions were due to observer error or technical failure. RESULTS: Five tumors peripheral four central location. All less than 3 mm diameter. The interval from initial detection ranged 8 95 months. This shorter (3-14 months). Estimated doubling times 24 285 days. CONCLUSION: Small that are near threshold detectability may be at CT. Such failure is attributable primarily poor conspicuity lesions. Retrospective identification raises...
