FOOD INSECURITY AND DEPRESSIVE SYMPTOMS: COMPARISON OF DRUG USING AND NONDRUG‐USING WOMEN AT RISK FOR HIV

摘要: Food insecurity has been linked to poor physical and mental health as well HIV risk behaviors. While prior research shown that drug users are prone food it is unclear if use exacerbates the psychosocial consequences. A sample of women who used drugs (DU) (specifically heroin cocaine) did not (NDU) were examined determine relationship between depression varied by status. Approximately 29% (n=128) total experienced insecurity. DU more likely be insecure. There no differences in receiving stamps. After controlling for demographics stamps, a significant association existed both NDU women.
