摘要: OBJECTIVE To evaluate the efficacy of parenteral administration procaine penicillin G, spiramycin, or enrofloxacin in treatment clinical mastitis lactating cows. DESIGN Noncontrolled, retrospective study. ANIMALS 487 cows with involving 543 quarters. PROCEDURE Clinical signs, histories, and results bacteriologic examination, somatic cell count, N-acetyl-beta-D-glucosaminidase activity milk samples taken before 3 to 4 weeks after were retrieved from hospital records. Cows treated parenterally for 5 days included. Supportive alone was given 35 infected Escherichia coli. Factors possibly affecting outcome analyzed, using ANOVA, correlation analyses, Mann-Whitney test. chi 2 Test used compare cure rates. RESULTS Bacteriologic rates caused by Staphylococcus aureus, coagulase-negative staphylococci, streptococci 34, 76, 65%, respectively. Cure their first lactation S aureus staphylococci significantly higher than those older In E coli, rate 74% G 71% not antimicrobials. High obtained at initial examination indicated a poor streptococcal mastitis. early period had more severe inflammatory responses signs if coliforms. CLINICAL IMPLICATIONS administered penicillin-susceptible strains is efficacious young Parenteral spiramycin does give satisfactory penicillin-resistant aureus. Use antimicrobials coliform bacteria questionable.
