摘要: The crowned eagle Harpyhaliaetus coronatus is a large Neotropical categorized as Endangered throughout its range. However, the threats to this species are poorly understood. We present data on causes of death eagles in semi-arid forests La Pampa province, central Argentina. Data was obtained from field surveys and interviews with 62 local landowners during 1999–2004. Over period five were shot, one killed by car, found dead cattle water trough, captivity. From information about further 10 cases being disturbed or trapped. Five (13%) 38 interviewed who positively identified admitted having past but only two (5%) mentioned predation upon livestock problem.
