Synthesis and structure of single-crystal marcasite

摘要: Marcasite single crystals were synthesiz-ed directly by a reaction of aqueous solutions containing Fe2+ and Fe3+ with H2S polysulphides at 200°C. It might be that natural marcasite formed according to some similar recipe, making use an interaction pore fluids or e.g. iron sulphates chlorides. The structure synthetic was refined from synchrotron diffraction data the Rietveld method.
