Phase behavior of binary hard-sphere mixtures from perturbation theory

摘要: Using a first-order perturbation theory, we have studied the phase diagram of binary mixture hard spheres for different values size ratio. Recent models two-body depletion potential between large are used to take into account role small spheres. The theory predicts complex including fluid-solid transition at high packing fraction spheres, metastability fluid-fluid demixing, an isostructural solid-solid sufficiently ratio q and tendency sticky-sphere behavior in limit $\stackrel{\ensuremath{\rightarrow}}{q}0.$ agreement with recent simulation results is quite good. We also show that this phenomenology was already implicit pioneering work Asakura Oosawa.
