摘要: Summary There are relevant clinical overlaps between some of the painful temporomandibular disorders (TMD) and headache conditions that may hamper diagnostic process treatment. A non-systematic search for studies on relationship TMD headaches was carried out in following databases: PubMed, Cochrane Library Embase. Important pain mechanisms contributing to close association complex as follows: processes peripheral central sensitisation which take place similar anatomical areas, possible impairment descending modulatory pathways referred pain. In addition, examination does not always provide distinguishing information differentiate TMD. So, considering pathophysiology presentation types myofascial TMD, such overlap can be considered only a matter comorbid relationship, but rather question where distinction lines sometimes hard identify. These concerns certainly reflected current classification systems both consequences diagnosis attributed or associated with uncertain. There several similarities terms therapeutic strategies used manage headaches. Considering all these levels interaction, we reinforce recommendation multidisciplinary approaches, by team oro-facial specialists neurologist (headache specialist), attain most precise differential initiate best efficient
